We want to extend our heartfelt apprecition to the following people:

  • Kara Gilliam and Meaghan Kupchak who once again outdid themselves with gorgeous tablescapes and settings for the Welcome Back Coffee.  
  • Dr. Luizzi, Mr. Gusitsch and Mrs. Granite for speaking to our parents and welcoming the community back to Saxe.
  • Domenica Monaghan and Marissa Percy for for feeding our teachers and staff ahead of the Open Houses.
  • Rebecca Feinberg, Julie Bennett and Allison White for selling fabulous Saxe merch at all of our Welcome Back events.
  • Kelly Lavigne, Nicole Grant and Nadine Nikas for organizing and executing a super fun 5th Grade Fun Run.

PTC Membership

The Saxe PTC is a network of volunteers dedicated to working together with the faculty, staff, and students at Saxe. Our goal is to make the middle school experience rewarding for all by supporting events, online initiatives, and fundraising efforts for Saxe. We’d love to count you among us. No experience is necessary, and there are no extra to-dos. Memberships are annual, and the new school year means new memberships. We're thrilled to announce the Saxe Intermediate School Musical this year is Elf JR! 5th and 6th graders are encouraged to participate—on or off stage. It's a wonderful experience to make friends, explore, and try something new. To read more about it, please visit the website HERE.

New Canaan Rotary Lobsterfest

September 27 and 28 from 4:00-8:00 PM, Waveny's Steve Benko Pool 

The New Canaan Rotary Club's Lobsterfest is coming. Lobsterfest is our main fundraiser and all proceeds are donated to local non-profits. We offer curbside pick up, poolside dining and free home delivery for orders of 8 or more. You can choose from lobster, lobster roll, grilled salmon and fried chicken dinners! New Canaan Library: Host a Table at World Cultures Fair

September 28 from 2:30-4:00 PM, New Canaan Library

Calling kids in grades 1-12: Host a table at New Canaan Library's World Cultures Fair, a celebration of diversity and heritage! Share some of the traditions, food, music, and art that make your culture special. Cook something, lead a craft, share some words in your home language, or show a video of your favorite song or dance. Share as much or as little as you like, so long as it comes from your own culture. Register HERE. Presenters must register by 1:30 PM on September 27.

2nd Annual Project Pink New Canaan

October 1-13 

As part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Project Pink will turn downtown New Canaan pink by decorating 100+ lampposts with pink ribbons, lights, and dedication tags. This initiative is a powerful way for our community to come together, honor loved ones, and support breast cancer awareness. 100% of proceeds go directly to Breast Cancer Alliance to fund life-saving research. You can purchase a dedication tag HERE. The purchase deadline is September 24.

Travel Basketball (Grades 5-8)

Registration is open for the 2024-2025 travel basketball program. Boys and girls tryouts for 5-8th grade will take place the week of October 14. Click HERE for more information and to register. See you on the court!

National Charity League Prospective Member Coffee, Canaan Parish

Are you the parent of a current 6th grader with a passion for community service, leadership, and cultural enrichment? We’re excited to invite you and your child to an informational coffee about the National Charity League (NCL) Canaan Parish Chapter. NCL is dedicated to nurturing mother-daughter relationships through meaningful community involvement. The program combines hands-on community service projects, leadership development opportunities, and enriching cultural experiences. After School Cooking & Crafting at the Carriage Barn

Wednesdays, October 2-23 at 4:00 PM

Come join the after school fun with local food consultant/chef and gardener Jane Mossa of The Pink Rhubarb. Children ages 7 to 13 will learn about farm to table methods, the basics of healthy eating and enjoy an edible education through a different hands on activity each week. Glass House Presents: Glass Etudes

Sunday, October 20 at 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Stamford

On the occasion of The Glass House's 75th Anniversary, join three renowned pianists—Timo Andres, Aaron Diehl, and Jenny Lin, for an hour-long concert of a selection of Philip Glass' Etudes in Stamford's extraordinary modernist First Presbyterian Church.
