SUBJECT: Saxe Bi-Weekly PTC Newsletter 10/20/24

October 20, 2024
Co-Presidents Letter

We spent the last ten days celebrating what makes our Saxe Hawks Superheroes. We discussed what makes a superhero, what different superpowers there are, and watched an amazing BMX Assembly by Mannie Nogueria. His message of never giving up and being kind continues to resonate throughout the building. Mostly though, we are once again very thankful for our Saxe Community of Superheroes who came together to for Celebrate Saxe. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us almost reach our goal. We are leaving the link open for a few days—if you haven't donated, it is not too late.  In order to fully fund our budget, we need to raise $100,000. Please help us get there by donating HERE.

Gratefully,

Jess and Emily

Connecticut State Requirement for 6th Grade Students

Connecticut State Law requires ALL students to have a physical exam during sixth grade. The CT Health Assessment form needs to be on file in the nurses office by the last day of 6th grade. We accept physicals dated from June 1, 2023.

Upon completion of the exam, please email or bring the completed CT health assessment record to the lower division health office. Please contact your school nurse, Joelle Graham, with any questions. She can be reached at joelle.graham@ncps-k12.org or at (203) 594-4526.

Community Clicks
Help Shape New Canaan’s Health & Well-Being by Taking a Five-Minute Survey

The New Canaan Behavioral Health Alliance (a coalition of over 30 local organizations dedicated to increasing community awareness of behavioral health resources) is urging all residents 18 years and older to participate in a five-minute Community Health & Well-Being survey, running from October 1-31. This anonymous survey will gather comprehensive insights from residents that will guide decisions and resources impacting our community's health, mental health, and well-being. Plus, widespread participation could help unlock additional funding for local behavioral health services. Let’s work together to ensure every voice counts in building a healthier, stronger New Canaan! Take the survey online at www.newcanaanbha.org.

All earnings go towards nonprofit Children Incorporated. Drop your kids off at the New Canaan Library for 30-minute or one-hour sessions. You can enjoy some time to yourself while your kids do their homework properly, learn to study, and get personal help in their chosen subject. Simply sign up on the Google form linked HERE.
