Grades 4 to 5 Transition Information Session

March 6, Saxe Auditorium

Families with 4th graders: Please mark your calendar for the evening of March 6 for an information session about the transition to Saxe! The evening will include a self-guided tour/scavenger hunt of the school, information session for parents, and music demos to help inform families of the different music options at Saxe Intermediate.  There will be a video of the event for those who cannot attend.

PTC Membership

The Saxe PTC is a network of volunteers dedicated to working together with the faculty, staff, and students at Saxe. Our goal is to make the middle school experience rewarding for all by supporting events, online initiatives, and fundraising efforts for Saxe. We’d love to count you among us. No experience is necessary, and there are no extra to-dos. Memberships are annual, and the new school year means new memberships. Daytime Open Houses

You are invited to attend a Daytime Open House during the week of February 10. During this open house session, teachers will provide an update on the curriculum covered so far and share an overview of upcoming units, projects, and activities.

Connecticut State Requirement for 6th Grade Students

Connecticut State Law requires ALL students to have a physical exam during sixth grade. The CT Health Assessment form needs to be on file in the nurses office by the last day of 6th grade. We accept physicals dated from June 1, 2024. 

Upon completion of the exam, please email or bring the completed CT health assessment record to the lower division health office. Please contact your school nurse, Joelle Graham, with any questions. She can be reached at joelle.graham@ncps-k12.org or at (203) 594-4526.

Filling in the Blanks SOUPer BOWL Drive 2025

Deadline for donations: February 10

Filling in the Blanks fights childhood hunger by providing children with weekend meal bags. Help fill the weekend meal bags by donating chicken noodle soup and/or tomato soup. Organize a canned soup drive in your community and drop off donations at the warehouse Monday through Friday anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Deadline, Monday, February 10th. LiveGirl Confidence Club

February 10 through March 31

LiveGirl is looking for middle school girls in grades 5-8 who are interested in having a mentor, building confidence, being a leader and most importantly, making friends! We’ll talk about what it means to be kind, accountable and inclusive all the while having fun! Click HERE to sign up. 

Full Court Peace 3v3 Winter Classic

March 9 from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, St. Luke's School

Grab three friends and enter the 1st Annual Full Court Peace 3v3 Winter Classic on March 9, 2025 at St. Luke's. Girls and Boys Divisions available with brackets for 5/6th grade, 7/8th grade and high school players. Entry fee of $75/team with a cap of four players per team. Click HERE to register.

Basic CERT Training Class

February 26 through April 5

The Community Emergency Response Team training is designed for people who want to know how to be better prepared to handle a disaster. The training will orient the participant to the Emergency Services in New Canaan, and outline the various actions an individual can take when emergency services resources are overwhelmed during a disaster. Upon completion of the course, participants may choose to become a member of the local CERT team. The CERT Basic Training course is a nationally standardized course developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Click HERE for the New Canaan CERT training application. 

NC Color Drop

Saturday, March 22 at 10:00 AM, Waveny Park

On March 22, a helicopter will release 2,000 golf balls over a target at Waveny Park. Each ball will be numbered individually and the participants whose golf ball(s) land closest to the target will win one of 26 New Canaan based prizes, culminating with a 2025 Chevy Colorado as the grand prize! 100% of proceeds will be donated to need-based college scholarships for NCHS graduates.
