Saxe Middle School PTC

The Saxe PTC is a large enthusiastic network of volunteers dedicated to supporting and working together with the faculty, staff and students at Saxe. Our goal is to help make the middle school experience rewarding for students, teachers, staff and parents by planning and staffing numerous social enrichment events such as:

  • 5th Grade Fun Run

  • Welcome Back Coffee

  • Red and Black Spirit Day

  • Teacher Appreciation Events

  • 4th/5th Grade Mentor Night

Our PTC fundraisers provide the means to enhance the curriculum through grants for departments, classrooms/teams, visual and performing arts and materials and equipment purchases.  Some examples of these purchases in recent years are:

  • Furniture, supplies and books for classroom libraries across all grade levels and disciplines

  • Customized welcome mats with the Saxe logo for the school's front and rear entrances

  • Clay slab rollers, figurines and supplies for the Art Department

  • Bass drum, trombone and bass clarinet for the Saxe School Band

  • National Geographic giant maps for use by all Saxe social studies students in all grades

  • Twelve student white board desks

PTC volunteers contribute positively to school-wide communications by producing items such as:

  • Student Directory

  • Newsletter

  • Website

  • Social Media Updates

  • Calendar

  • General Meetings

  • Parent Education Speakers

PTC General Meetings are held four to seven times a year.  Topics of discussion range from general business to special interest panels and speakers addressing current hot topics as well as the social-emotional development of middle-school students.

Parents of Saxe Students are encouraged to join the PTC and attend these informative meetings. We have a need for all types of involvement, from long-term commitments to help with one-day events.  Join us in making Saxe the best school it can be!
