It's a Saxe tradition to celebrate our 8th graders in a big way for all their hard work and success throughout their four years at Saxe. End-of-year planning is in full swing for a final farewell to the Saxe graduating class of 2024.

8th Grade Picnic

Get ready for a fantastic afternoon at the 8th Grade Class Picnic on June 11th! We're thrilled for an event filled with laughter, games, and delicious food, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Saxe PTC.

To ensure we have enough for everyone, we're offering students three mouthwatering sandwich options. Please let us know your student's preference by May 15, 2024. If we don't receive a response, we'll assume they prefer Option #1.

8th Grade Bash

Monday, June 10, 2024 at 5:30 - 7:30 PM

Saxe Fields, rain or shine

This event is for current 8th grade Saxe students only.

The party of the year for 8th graders! Students can expect a wonderful sendoff celebration event. There will be a DJ spinning tunes, lots of dancing, and a wide variety of fun lawn games and exciting activities like air hockey, basketball hoop shots, and photo booths. Students will enjoy dinner from a Pizza Truck PLUS a candy and snack bar. This event will take place outdoors on the grassy fields, so dress accordingly. The cost is $40 per ticket.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a fantastic event planned for this year’s 8th Grade Saxe Bash ‘24! If you’re looking for ways to volunteer your time, please reach out to Marley Thackray at marleythackray@gmail.com.

8th Grade End-of-Year Video

The 8th-grade end-of-the-year video is in motion!  Please submit 2 photos of your 8th grader for our end-of-the-year video. This video will be played at graduation and available for parents to view/download after graduation. The submission Deadline is Thursday, May 30th. 

What makes a good submission? Images that show your child in action doing something they enjoy. Treasured preschool snaps. Pictures that make you smile. Please keep images for the 2024 8th grade class; pets are the exception. JPEG/PNG accepted:

•  1 of your child 0-8 years
•  1 from their SAXE years

***IF SUBMITTING GROUP PHOTOS, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO USE/SHARE THE IMAGE FROM ALL PEOPLE PHOTOGRAPHED. If you have any questions, please contact Jera Flood at jeraflood@gmail.com.

Brownstone Adventure Park Field Trip

8th grade field trip will be at Brownstone Adventure Sports Park, in Portland, CT. The 8th grade class will be able to enjoy a fun-filled day of swimming, zip-lining, rock climbing, and a variety of other activities at one of Connecticut's best water parks! Buses will return to Saxe at approximately 3:15 pm. 

The cost of the trip is $85. Tickets and Permission Form needed.
