It's a Saxe tradition to celebrate our 8th graders in a big way for all their hard work and success throughout their four years at Saxe. End-of-year planning is in full swing for a final farewell to the Saxe graduating class of 2026.

8TH GRADE BASH

Wed, June 10th, 5:30 - 7:30pm @ Saxe Fields (rain date: Thur, June 11th)

The party of the year for 8th graders! Students can expect a wonderful sendoff with DJ & dancing, fun lawn games and exciting activities like air hockey, pop a shot, a photo booth and more! There will be a pizza truck plus a candy and snack bar. The event takes place on the Saxe fields. The cost is $50 per ticket.

More About Bash
✅ Attendance | This event is for current 8th grade Saxe students only. Students are expected to stay for the ENTIRE Bash (5:30 - 7:30pm), unless we have permission in advance from a parent/guardian for an early pick up. This helps us avoid confusion and ensures that every student is accounted for—we want all families to feel confident their kids are safe throughout the night.

👗 Dress Code Suggestions | Students are encouraged to dress up a bit for the occasion—nothing fancy, just a step above everyday. Think fun and festive! Please no athletic wear. Some ideas:

• Boys: Collared shirts, khaki shorts or pants

• Girls: Dressy tops with pants, a skirt, or a casual dress

Since the event is outdoors on grass, please keep footwear practical—sneakers are encouraged.

MEET THE COACHES NIGHT

Monday, June 8th, 6:30pm @NCHS Gymnasium   

A great opportunity for incoming students to hear from Athletic Director Jay Egan, meet coaches and team captains from all high school athletic programs. Whether your student is planning to participate in athletics right away or is simply interested in learning more, all families are encouraged to attend!

Permission slip and trip payment information sent via email directly from Saxe.  Buses will return to Saxe at approximately 3:15 pm. 

8th GRADE BAGEL BREAKFAST & YEARBOOK SIGNING

8th graders will get their first peek at the 2025-26 yearbook and be treated to a casual bagel breakfast with their friends first thing in the morning! 

8th GRADE PROMOTION PRACTICE & PICNIC LUNCH

Wednesday, June 17th @ Saxe 

Immediately following their promotion ceremony rehearsal (which will take place at New Canaan Hight School), 8th graders will be treated to a picnic lunch. 

8th GRADE PROMOTION CEREMONY

Thursday, June 18th, 9:45am @ New Canaan High School Gymnasium

For our final event, we will have a proper send-off for the Saxe Class of 2026 with the traditional promotion ceremony at New Canaan High School. The occasion is formal, so please dress accordingly.  Drop off is at 9:15am at Dunning Field.
